Thank you to all of you that support us by attending our events & make donations. Last month for July we were able to financially assist 5 families totaling $4,534.49. Some of the things we helped with were medical bills not covered by insurance, mortgages and loans . We even got to grant a little boy a wish of an Ipad. These are bills we all take for granted to be able to pay but when you have a child fighting for their life, being with them and not being able to work becomes your reality. People struggle not only emotionally but financially as well! Being able to grant a wish to one of our brave warriors is so important as well. The purchase of an Ipad may not seem like a necessity to some but when your child has to be taken away from their siblings for treatment sometimes this becomes their way of staying in touch. Being able to face time family and friends is priceless when you are far away due to treatments. They also help pass the time when a child has to been in the hospital for hours, days, weeks or sometimes months.. In our case Cory's first gift he was given was an Ipad. To see his face light up when he received it meant the world to us. He used his Ipad daily to watch movies, play games, message friends & family and to help with his motor skills as his tumor progressed. It eventually became his only form of communication with us when he could no longer speak and had to use an app called speech assist. These kids are all so very brave. They are fighting for their life. I ask that you please take a moment to visit our Brave Warrior photo album to see some of the children you have directly helped! Sincerely,
Teresa & Jim Gaudet

I would also like to give a shout out to our son Nicholas who in addition to his full time job takes care of our graphic design and website design work. He and his girlfriend Mikayla also headed up a fundraising team Easier Said than Run raising over $2,000. Mikayla thank you for working so hard, reaching out to businesses and getting most all of our raffle items for this year’s event. Our daughter Nicole had her own fundraising team Never Give Up raising $680. This year we had two very special teams taking part, Fighting for Emma B and Rhythm’s Journey. Our brave warrior Emma a beautiful 14 yr old and her family attended our event. Rhythm is a little boy battling DIPG from Hawaii with local ties. His grandmother, aunts, uncles & cousins joined our event as well. Other mentions Team Got Your Bak team captain Tracy Bak raising just over $3,000 and team Miles for Smiles co captains Jason & Tina Carroll raising just under $3,000. The support we receive from local and even non local businesses is so amazing and needed so very much. Whether they are supporting a team, an individual or just sponsoring the event their involvement makes it possible to do what we do. We also have businesses who donate their time, product and or service to help make our event a success and for that we would like to say thank you. We had 55 business sponsors this year but would like to say a special thank you to G-Form for being our corporate sponsor and covering the cost of our 5K event t-shirts.

Childhood brain cancer/tumors are devastating and help is always needed for families who are battling. They deserve to spend every single minute being with their precious child and not having to worry about day to day bills piling up. We can't thank you all enough for helping us help others. You can learn a little more about our children by visiting our photo gallery tab on our website - we have a photo album dedicated to our brave warriors, just click on their pictures to learn a little about them! It is with great sadness that I also have to share that we lost 3 of our brave warriors since my last newsletter. Bianka forever 5, Javier forever 17 and Riva forever 8. Please keep their families in your thoughts & prayers.
Funding Research... Our funding to date has been to support The Evan T. Mandeville DIPG Research Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. Evan was a fun spirited little boy who was diagnosed with DIPG in the November after Cory. He lost his more than courageous battle a year to the day of his diagnosis on November 13, 2012, just 3 months after Cory passed away. He was 11 years old. Like us, Tim and Aimee, Evan's parents have become very passionate with their cause, which is specific to funding research for DIPG. We understand how unforgiving this disease is and what it means to find a cure. Imagine if we could find a cure for the most difficult to treat and devastating brain tumor of all and what that would mean for the advancement in all cancer/tumor treatments.
Together we can make a difference in the life of a child battling brain cancer/tumors.
