Where does the money go?

Image-5This year we wanted to do something special for the holidays. Having gone through the holidays while Cory was in treatment we know first hand how difficult it can be.We decided to reach out to the resource coordinators we work with at the Jimmy Fund Clinic. We asked each of them to provide us with families that would benefit from a little help with the purchase of presents for their children. They quickly got back to us with a list of 5 families and we were able to help them with the purchase of $2,500 worth of gifts for their families. We also helped with the purchase of another $650 for two of our families that we were assisting with other needs. This month has become our biggest month to date for giving. We were able to help 2 families with some of their monthly expenses totaling $2,063.We were able to Make another $5,000 donation to the Evan T. Mandeville DIPG Research Fund at Dana Farber. Along with the holiday gifts this gives us a monthly total of $10,213 None of this would be possible without the generosity and support of all of you. Thank you for helping us help others. Together we can make a difference in the life of a child battling brain cancer.

Our Christmas Tree Jamboree at Attleboro Farms was once again a success raising $700 despite the rain. Thank you to Kris & Deb Kieon owners of the Farm and all of our volunteers, especially Jared who was such a great Santa.

:-) There is still time to make your tax deductible donation before years end ... please consider making your tax deductible gift today :-)

Where Does The Money Go? Financial Assistance Gifted for Oct

Family Assistance for October 2014.…. It is because of your generosity and continued support that we were able to financially assist 3 families last month totaling $3,360 and we have provided over $37,500 of financial assistance to our families so far this year. In addition, we have donated $10,000 this years towards pediatric brain tumor research.  Our financial assistance we give varies each month depending on our families request. We feel it is important to help out the family or families with whatever their specific need is at the time.   Although we work directly with the Resource specialists at Boston Children's Hospital / The Jimmy Fund Clinic and Hasbro Children's Hospital, we also get applications from people that have learned of us online through the DIPG Registry, Social Media as well as Social Workers and Resources Specialists from other hospitals. Last month we assisted a 4 yr old little girl from IL with her families rent payment, an 11 year old little girl from SC with their grocery needs as well as rent payment and a  7 yr old little girl from Texas with food & clothing.  Childhood brain cancer/tumors are devastating and help is always needed for families who are battling.  They deserve to spend every single minute being with their precious child and not having to worry about day to day bills piling up.  We can't thank you all enough for helping us help others. You can learn a little more about our children by visiting our photo gallery tab on our website - we have a photo album dedicated to our brave warriors, just click on their pictures to learn a little about them! Funding Research... Our funding to date has been been to support The Evan T. Mandeville DIPG Research Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.  Evan was a fun spirited little boy who was diagnosed with DIPG in the November after Cory.  He lost his more than courageous battle a year to the day of his diagnosis on November 13, 2012, just 3 months after Cory passed away.  He was 11 years old. Like us Tim and Aimee, Evan's parents have become very passionate with their cause, which is specific to funding research for DIPG.  Sadly this bond we share as parents of a child who battled DIPG is like none other.  We understand how unforgiving this disease is and what it means to find a cure.  Imagine if we could find a cure for the most difficult to treat and devastating brain tumor of all what it would mean for the advancement in all cancer/tumor treatments.  Together we can make a difference.

Save The Date .... Our 3rd Annual 5K Road Race & Relay Walk will be held on Sunday May 3, 2015 at Blackstone Millville Regional High School.

Where does the money go... family assistance for August 2014

Family Assistance for August 2014.…. It is because of your generosity and continued support that we were able to financially assist 2 families last month totaling just over $2,500, in addition we donated $5,000 in funds to Research last month and we have provided over $32,000 of financial assistance to our families so far this year. Our financial assistance varies each month depending on our families request. we feel it is important to help out the family or families with whatever their specific need is at the time. Last month we helped a 16 yr old boys family from Hyde Park, MA who was referred to us by one of the Resource Specialists at Boston Children's Hospital to pay their past due excise taxes so mom could renew her drivers license and get her son to and from treatments. They were having to rely on Mass Health Transportation which proved to be extremely difficult. These are things most people take for granted. We also assisted a 13 yr old girl's family from Providence, RI with their mortgage payment. They were referred to us by the Clinical Social Worker at Hasbro Children's Hospital. We are told that she is going to need to be transferred to Boston for inpatient Rehab therapy following her brain surgery. Childhood Brain Cancer/tumors are devasting and help is always needed for families who are battling. They deserve to spend every single minute being with their precious child and not having to worry about day to day bills piling up. We can't thank you all enough for helping us help others. You can learn a little more about our children by visiting our photo gallery tab on our website - we have a p! hoto album dedicated to our brave warriors! Funding Research ... Last month we were able to do a matching grant of $5,000 to Evan's Crew PMC Team which supports The Evan T. Imagine if we could find a cure for the most difficult to treat and devastating brain tumor of all what it would mean for the advancement in all cancer/tumor treatments. Together we can make a difference.

Our first annual golf tournament was a huge success. We can not thank The Pines Restaurant and Pub enough for hosting and organizing this event. We would like to say a special thank you to the golf committee members in addition to me and Jim there were Kerri Allard, Ron Constantineau, Dennis Peloquin and Derek Falardeau, without them non of this would have been possible. Thank you to our many sponsors. Also to our son Nicholas Gaudet and nephew Derek Falardeau for their hard work in creating the graphics for all of the sponsor signs and Nicholas for our golf flyers, banners and website stuff. I will do an entire update on our Golf Tournement after all the totals are in and we can share exactly what a success it was.

Thank you for helping us help families with children battling brain tumors/ cancer. Without your continued support we would not be able to do what we do.
