As you can imagine our 5K Event brings so many different emotions to our family! This for me was one of the most emotional moments of the race - When Nicholas crossed the finish line! We dedicated race bib #1 to Cory and Nicholas proudly ran the race for his brother with his bib & picture pinned to his back This bib along with Nicholas's bib# will be donated along with race tshirts to 2 children battling brain cancer through the organization Brain cancer share your shirts. So Big Hugs to Nathan and Megan who are fighting... Please know you both are in our continued thoughts and prayers and as Cory would say Never Give Up!
Another special moment for me and Jim at our 5K was when Cory's Friend Brandon's brother came up to us and introduced himself and said that Brandon asked him to run the 5K for him because he is deployed and can not! Truly special. Love You Brandon and hope you are doing well. Never Give Up! Big Hugs, Much Love & God Bless! Cory would be proud of you!
A very Powerful and Emotional statement... Lieutenant Kenneth Cotnoir of the Blackstone Fire Department ran in full gear. We had a moment to speak with him after the race, what an honor to have him take part in our Event. He was also involved in the shave-off fundraiser that was organized by my nephew Michael Lubash (a Yarmouth Fireman & EMT) The shave off was held to honor Cory after his diagnosis and to raise money for our family back in March of 2011 at the Blackstone Fire Station. The support our family had received and the support our organization is receiving is truly so amazing - We can't thank you all enough! Thank you for helping us help children battling brain cancer.
Family Assistance for March ... It is because of the generosity and support of others that we have been able to financially assist 4 families last month with a $1,200 Mortgage payment, a $2,075 partial Rent payment, a Car payment and an Oil Delivery payment totaling over $4,000. If you would like to help us help others you can visit our 5K weblink and make a donation to an individual or team or you would like to join us and register to either run the 5K Road Race or take part in our Relay Walk that takes place through out the day on track just click the link below. www.coryscrusaders.dojiggy.com

CED Clincial Trial Article
Cory was 1 of the 4 patients talked about in this article and he was 2 of the 5 infusions they talked about because he underwent this CED clinical trial surgery twice. Sadly he is the only patient that lived long enough and was well enough to have it done twice. http://thejns.org/doi/abs/10.3171/2013.11.PEDS136
Cory's Crusaders, Inc. 1st year anniversary!
Today is a special Day ... Cory's Crusaders, Inc. is officially a year old! In the past year we have been able to financially assist many families, some more than once and have had several successful fundraising events. As we begin our second year we look forward to fulfilling the second part of our mission statement which is not only to financially assist families with children battling brain cancer but to also start funding research specific to pediatric brain cancer. Please join our mailing list! Please "like" our facebook page (the fb icon is found at the top right of our page) The impact we can make together is far greater than what any of us could ever do on our own. Thank you for helping us help others.
Thank you for helping us help others
This is why we feel so strongly about what we do and why we are doing it! Today we were able to assist a family with rent & utilities for the month! Below is a message from the Mom! "Thank you again so much and tell your donors thank you one less thing to keep me up at night. If the stress of having a child with Cancer and going to Drs and being in hospitals months at a time and traveling to consults looking for a cure and watching your child sick and suffering isn't enough to give you a nervous breakdown, add to that the depleting of all your savings and wondering if you have enough to cover a bill, to not have something shut off and the reality is you wouldn't even care if your child would be cured."
On behalf of Cory's Crusaders and the families we are able to financially assist because of your continued support we Thank You!
The impact we can make together is far greater than what any of us could ever do on our own! Thank you for helping us help others. Big Hugs, Much Love & God Bless!
Thank you for helping us help others
Today we sent out a special package to a little boy battling brain cancer... We sent an iPad along with some accessories! It was a request from one of the resource specialists from Dana Farber, The Jimmy Fund Clinic! The little boy who will be receiving this gift needs it to help him with his fine motor and communication skills. We learned first hand how valuable a tool this can be. Cory had also received one as a gift which was priceless to him/us. In the beginning it helped pass his time while traveling for appts and in the end it became his only way to communicate with us. We can't thank you all enough for your continued support to our Organization because without your support we would not be able to do what we do. The impact we can make together is far greater than what any of us could ever do on our own. Thank you for helping us help others.
Grumpy's Game Night to benefit Cory's Crusaders
We are pleased to announce that we raised a total of $1,700 at our Event last night. Jim and I would like to Thank Grumpy's Restaurant & Pub and all of their employees that helped make last night a huge success. We would like to say thank you to Alexandra Dutremble and the DJ Wayne for providing entertainment before, during & after the Bruins game. We would also like to say Thank You to everyone that came out and supported us and our cause. It is because of all of you that we are able to do what we do. Thank you for helping us help others. Last night's fundraiser was dedicated to Jayson a little boy with a stage 4 brain cancer and 100% percent of the proceeds will be donated to his family. Special thoughts & prayers for him and his family as they go through this extremely difficult time.
